Well the diving season is fast approaching and we’ve got a few projects underfoot to give our valued customers a wonderful experience above and below water.
- An additional boat: A 54-foot boat is currently being fitted out. It will carry up to 12 divers and will be used for whaleshark watching safaris. This is one fast boat, too, so divers will spend more time with whalesharks and less on getting to and from the resort. Together with the reliable Whaleshark 2, it will enable us to handle groups of up to 24 divers.
- Accommodations+: Two more cottages will be available by October. For the ultimate comfort, we also have two luxury units: one a house and the other a condominium type, both with lounge suite, dining hall, and self-contained kitchen. Big rooms and beds, plus a killer view of the ocean make these truly luxurious accommodations at very reasonable prices.
- Bigger service areas: We’ve doubled the size of the dive shop to handle the needs and equipment of 30 divers. Of course, more divers mean more hungry mouths to feed, so we’ve doubled the kitchen area, too!
- Big groups (big discounts): With additional accommodation, a new boat, and a third compressor, we will be able to offer groups of up to 24 quality service at a very reasonable price. The bigger the group, the bigger the discounts, so make your bookings early! Better still, contact us.
- Individual diver incentives: Divers doing a third boat dive will receive $2 off that dive. If they want to do a fourth dive (more likely a night dive), they get a $4 discount.
We look forward to diving with you!

We stumbled on it a bit late (it was posted last December), but Eric Han’s video montage of his stay at the resort is simply too good to pass up. As he says, “At one point, there were three whalesharks together! If one was already excellent and two superb, then three must be divine!” (full story) Amen to that, Brother Eric.

Another year is about to end and we’re in the middle of a busy and rewarding dive season, not to mention the holidays (Merry Christmas!), so here’s a quick visual recap of the improved resort: a bigger, better dive boat, the just-completed swimming pool, and additional cottages.
Of course, some things remain the same, like our reliable and friendly service staff. (All photos courtesy of Jochen Hinke.)

Jochen Hinke shares a short clip of a whaleshark he dived with during his stay. This season’s guests are more or less assured of swimming with these gentle creatures; we have had daily sightings since the season started. A big thank you to Jochen!
If you have problems accessing the video through this site, it is also available on YouTube and Google Video.
Want more? Don Horschel has photos. Thanks, Don!

The whaleshark season is off with a bang!
On our first trip for the season, guests from Singapore and the US dived with four of the big guys (yes: four). Looks like it’s going to be a wonderful season as it’s so early for there to be so many. So get your bookings in fast especially if you’re a group!
11.10.06
We know you like to spend more of your hard-earned money on diving and less on your room, so we’re increasing the discount on accommodation for divers from 10% to 20%.
Check out the new rates.

Construction is now well underway for our swimming pool.
Situated at the south end of the resort, it is well-elevated, giving guests a breathtaking view of the ocean. With a three-meter deep end, students doing their open-water course will have an ideal place to hone their skills before venturing out into the ocean.
The project is expected to be finished by late December.

New in our gallery: lots of photos by Mark Schwedersky.
Special thanks must go out to our dear friends Mark and Wue-Mei who have supplied us with endless video footage and snapshots around our area over the last few years. Having been here every year since the resort was founded in 2000, they have become part of the furniture. ;-)
Our thanks also to all our other guests who have shared photos with us in the past.

Thanks to all who wrote/called expressing concern for our safety in the aftermath of the Saint Bernard mudslide. We are well and good, and are in fact a long way off from the disaster site, Saint Bernard being on the Pacific side of the island (see image below).

Just in time for the new year, we’ve completed construction of two duplex cottages. Located at the south end of the resort, they are airconditioned, with twin beds, private toilet/bath and hot water.
And that concludes our building binge this season. Whew!

It’s dive season once again!
We’ve been pretty busy here at the resort during the off season, sprucing up the old, building some new ones — even sinking a boat! Really:
- Dining: Expanded the restaurant to twice the original size, plus a complete makeover; also added a library area and lounge suite. Same great food!
- Gearing up: Totally new dive shop, with plenty of space for your gear, and a bigger setup area with individual washtubs for your convenience.
- Recreation: Games lounge moved to make room for the restaurant; now located right next to the ocean. Enjoy billiards, darts, and our mini-gym.
- Guest rooms: Additional cottages — spacious, high-ceilinged, and (by popular request) airconditioned.
- And more: Bigger parking area, new landscaping.
Some of the projects won’t be completed until the end of the year, but our marine wonderland is all set and ready to be explored! In fact, we’ve sunk our old boat, the Whaleshark I, so you can look forward to a new wreck dive at House Reef.
See you around!

We are pleased to announce that by end of this year, the resort will be able to accommodate more guests with the addition of five cottages.
